THE SIMS 4 KEEP CRASHING SINCE SWITCH TO EA APP. Sims * itself down.

Hello everyone, I have a problem..

I wanted to start the Sims4 and saw that I had no choice and had to go from Origin to EA, Can you feel it coming?
Well made the switch not knowing what misery awaited me!

Then the EA app had an error.. Then The Sims was supposedly loading but it wouldn't start.. Such minor things happened that I didn't have with Origin.

Fortunately, it was all fixable.. And I was able to play the game for 2 days with Mods.
Now it is true that when I start the game everything goes well, But when I start playing it closes itself within 1min! You can literally put the clock on it.
Have watched a lot of forums and videos with countless solutions and what you can do about it or where it could be .. Have literally done EVERYTHING and tried but in vain Frown
I can do tricks such as starting in admin and checking mods and new sims map etc etc, but in all the years that I have been playing this game nothing works anymore.
I even tried to switch from EA to origin. You now also have tricks to get around it, but unfortunately that doesn't work for me,
I also get a message more often after closing that Origin is not installed, while I do need that software to start the game and that I have to install Origin again? But then you immediately have the message from origin to go to EA, which unfortunately I could not ignore.
Well, I am at my wits end and know that this is really due to the EA App .. And now I fear that I will no longer be able to play Sims.
Someone who has the redeeming answer and solution? My thanks are great.
I did this with google translate so i hope it makes sense ^^.

  • @MotherOfAMiracle  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder, that is if you haven't already.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.

If you still can't play, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

For the messages about Origin not being installed, when exactly do you see these: after closing Sims 4, or some other time?  Please also post a screenshot of the message.  Please translate it if your native language doesn't use the Roman alphabet; otherwise, leave it as it is.

  • Thankyou for the response  🙂 I did move the entire sims 4  map out of the documents and Electronic Arts, And for now it seems to work fine !

<span;><span;>What can I do now ? Because I prefer to be able to play with my saves and mods, I had already tested them and that was not the problem. And anything that goes into the tray map, can there be anything wrong with that?

    Sincerely 🙂 .

@MotherOfAMiracle  Sorry for the late reply.  You can start adding your saves and other content to the new Sims 4 folder now, testing as you go.  It's unlikely that anything in Tray would be a problem, and while saves might not load, they shouldn't prevent the entire game from loading.  Still, test your crashing saves with no mods or custom content present just to see how they run.  If a no mods, no cc save crashes, stop there and let me know.

Otherwise, test out your mods and cc in batches, or use the 50/50 method:

Keep in mind that you may have more than one file that needs replacing.

For the rest, it's better to let the game generate new copies of files and folders rather than transferring the old ones.  You might want to keep the contents of Screenshots or Recorded Videos, although they can be stored elsewhere if your only goal is to view them outside the game.  The rest is extraneous.

Hihoi, Yes I started a new game.
I had removed the entire sims4 map from electronic arts and spawned a new one. I had removed all mods, tray and saves.
I've been playing for a while now and that went fine, and I put all the mods back in. Only my tray and saves are not. And so far it's been going well for an hour 🙂 .

Thanks for your reply 🙂 .
