Tried to get rid of symbolic link but EA still recognises SSD as main location
I successfully opened and ran my game on my SSD with mods and CC. I now have a new laptop. And I tried to unlink my symbolic link by using the: rmdir MKLINK "%UserProfile%\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4" but would get: The system cannot find the file specified. The directory is not empty." When I opened my game from the EA app it opened as a completely new game, as if I had no saves, trays etc. I copied my mods, trays, saves, and screenshots from my SSD over to Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4. The symbolic link isn't there anymore as in the arrow next to my folder under Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4, isn't there anymore.
After copying my mods, saves etc. from my SSD to my Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4, I opened my game and it greeted me with my saves, and mods as normal but as if I had just installed Sims onto my laptop again. However my SSD doesn't eject until anything EA/The Sims is closed (I do this through task manager). Did I do it right? I don't want to chance deleting my SSD files and risk losing my saves and mods.
If I did do this as normal, do I copy my saves, mods, trays, and screenshots onto a hard drive and then copy them over to my new laptop, and will work as normal? Thank you!
