Create a new folder into which you'll install Sims 4. The folder should be on the root level of the drive of your choice, for example C:\Game is fine, but not C:\Program Files\Games.
If you use a third-party antivirus, I would suggest temporarily disabling it while installing Sims 4, and not reenabling it until you've successfully launched the game once, if you get that far. As long as you don't do anything else at the same time, your computer should be safe. If and when the game is working, set an exception in the AV for EADesktop.exe. Set exceptions for TS4_x64, TS4_DX9_x64, and TS4_Launcher_x64 as well, or the entire Bin folder they're in.
