Unable to Play Since Update

Hi all, 

First time poster so please bare with me. I'm running a gaming system through an Asus Computer Laptop with Tend Micro Subscriptions so no virus or anti software's, if I'm saying that correctly.  The computer is only used to play sims. Since the update my sims can't upgrade any kitchen appliances they get stuck there so I debug them and try again, same thing happens.  Game is sluggish and glitches. Half of my house items were missing and completely gone or moved to inventory, which couldn't be retrieved. My Game has become unplayable; sims just keep getting stuck. I Have repaired the game multiple times and also Uninstalled and re-installed hoping that will fix the problem but unfortunately no. Please help as I'm unable to play under these conditions.
