I have been having trouble playing the game before and after the update on 08/06/2026. My installation of the game has been fresh. I've tried renaming the Sims 4 folder to generate a new clean folder. The game starts, gets to the loading screen with the spinning green crystal on a blue background and crashes to desktop.
This is on a clean install. No mods.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Clearing the EA App cache and repairing the game allows me to play for 10 to 15 minutes before crashing to desktop. I can only play again after clearing the cache and repairing the game again. I've gone through every fix and workaround that I can find.
My game crashes randomly since the last update, never crashed before, so I think that this has to do with the memory/autosave update.
I'm getting this exact same thing. And I have no mods right now.
I have absolutely no idea why this suddenly happens, I can just hope it's going to be fixed ASAP!
Still unplayable. Another clean reinstall after the 8/6 patch. Game loads to the main menu on the very first launch. Can play for about 10-15 minutes before a hard crash to desktop. Game will start, but will crash before reaching the main menu. Clearing the EA App cache and repairing the Sims 4 will allow start up to reach the main menu and 10-15 minutes of gameplay before hard crashing to the desktop. The process of clearing the cache and repairing the Sims 4 must be completed after each crash to reach the game's main menu. Again, any help would be appreciated.
I was able to play after the 8/6 update but a few days later when I try to open I get the same issue above, it starts to load, closes the load screen and goes back to EA app.

S00SHA Your dxdiag lists a few crashes of the graphics driver. So please do a clean uninstall and reinstall of the driver, as described here:
If that doesn't help, please try playing in a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.
If that doesn't help either, please post a new dxdiag.

Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop. From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

TexasEVil I take it the clean folder didn't help? If not, try playing in windowed mode. Oddly enough, that's helped a couple other players with your model processor when nothing else did.
