Update Not Working, Stuck on Re-Install

Yesterday, I went to open Sims 4, and I was told it needed updating, so I proceeded to click update, waited around fifteen minutes, only for it to say 'Download Failed' . I then cancelled the update, and tried again. And again. And again. I then turn my laptop of, back on again, then tried it. Still not working.

I have now tried it with the disk in my laptop, at least three times.

I then decided to research the problem, and I found a question posted with a similar problem to mine, and it had several responses saying to un-install Origin, and re-install it and try again. So I did this, and now the game seems to be stuck on 'Resuming Installation - 0%', which it has been for the past two hours.

I'm finding this incredible frustrating, as I've only had this game less than one month, and it wasn't exactly cheap, and now it seems like I cannot access this game, as a result of an 'update' which I assumed was meant to improve the game, not completely ruin any chance of playing it.

I would appreciate any help I could get, as soon as possible to fix this problem. Thank you.
