White screen on startup

shirobya​  You're getting the video card error with the slightly older driver you installed, the one that worked before?  That's odd, but in that case, I think the best thing to do is to reinstall the newest driver and use a different workaround.  You obviously don't want to play on the iGPU, but switching to it temporarily and then back to the Nvidia GPU has helped some users.

The point is that the video card error is more stubborn than the white screen.  And it's possible that using the newest driver won't fix the issue either, so let me know what you get.
