why is it doing this?

@Nanners3797  Have you claimed Sims 4 through Steam or Epic?  If so, did you install the game through one of those or through the EA App?

I got it from steam and I think I installed it with steam as well. It then made me download the EA  app and launch it from there but it wont launch unless i sign in and that’s where this problem started. 

@Nanners3797  Please do a clean uninstall of Sims 4:

• Put aside your Sims 4 folder in Documents\Electronic Arts and rename it to something that doesn't include the words "Sims 4."
• Download Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine) from here.
• Launch Revo, select Sims 4 from the list, and click Uninstall.
• Once the game is uninstalled, select "Moderate" under "scanning modes," and click Scan.
• Review the list, in case there's something you want to save; otherwise, click Select All, and then Delete.
• Close Revo, and restart your computer.

Uninstall the EA App with Revo as well.  I don't have instructions for that at the moment, but the process should be straightforward.  Restart again when you're done.

Install the EA App, then Sims 4 through the EA App.  Don't involve Steam in the process at all.

@Nanners3797  Steam is unlikely to be contributing to this issue.  However, there's no other reason it needs to be installed on your computer, then yes, go ahead and remove it too.
