How come the devs don't listen to what we want when we mention it in the forum?
Because one guru said we on the forum are toxic so our voice don't matter.
Oh my god. No. He said, somewhere in the depths of the internet, on a personal account that had nothing to do with EA or Maxis, that all forums are "trash". He obviously doesn't like forums, period.
Someone dug up the statement and smeared it online for everyone to get offended over. It's not a big deal. Many forums are toxic. That's probably why he never posted here to begin with, as far as I know. I mean, look at how easily people freak out over game stuff and get all riled and offended on here, and this forum is much more tightly moderated than most others. I can't say I blame him.
But he still said it..I don't care if it was on a personal account...it sure as heck don't make me feel good hearing that.
Not to mention the gurus hardly interact with the forums so...
Exactly. And that's why. Look at how you interpreted his statement, by adding, "So our voice don't matter", which is not at all what he said. The same Guru, in fact, interacted a lot with players on Twitter before he changed his job and moved off of Sims 4. And he was always very straightforward with his answers and admitted when they'd made blunders or mistakes, as far as I could tell.
I think the reason the devs interact more on Twitter is because for one, it's one of the most popular social media sites, and also, because there are no walls of text to get through that takes too much time to read. They can scan questions and statements quickly and answer them more promptly.
Anyway, this is getting off topic, my apologies.
Why does the sims have a forum if they’re hardly going to acknowledge it in the first place? we might as well all be moved to Twitter where we can probably have a better chance of our ideas to be heard. This is their forum that they created & we have many tabs where we can give ideas etc but yet aren’t listened or acknowledged in. I don’t understand that
Some of them do come here, sometimes. I've had some conversations and I've seen different Gurus step in here and there. But I think it's just the natural evolution of social media. I think many devs do read a fair share of posts when they have the time, even if they don't reply, but honestly, how many forum threads are they going to be able to read, how many posts in those threads, while still having time to work on the game? Some of these threads go on and on with lots of text, it would be very time consuming to reply to them.
If anything, they have to pick and choose what to look at and probably only read the first few posts unless they find the thread particularly important. But they do come around, even if it's just to quietly absorb.
