Sims 2 super collection

Sims 2 Super Collection and buying it on Origin

Hello, I bought the Sims 2 Super Collection on Mac in 2016 and my experience has been not good. At least once a month, I would experience a glitch in the game. The first time all my nieghborhoods disappeared. The second time my sims kept on disappearing and whenever my sim would have a memory of a disappeared sim, their name would come up as $$$. There have been multiple instances of this. I had to restart my game because Mortimer couldn't pick up the trash on the floor and no one else could either. Now, Cassandra and Don lost all relationships. Cassandra isn't even related to Mortimer and Alex anymore. I am so done with Aspyr. I keep on redownloading the game from the App Store and nothing works. I think I just have a bad copy of the game. Is there a way I can get another Sims 2 game on Origin or something. I really want Ultimate Collection. Oh, and also, I have The Sims 4 on Origin and it works just fine. I have not experienced a glitch in 5 years. Can someone please help me? I am so stressed out about this. I just want to buy another Sims 2 game. I don't have PCs in my family anymore. We only have Apple products, but is there still some way I can get Sims 2 on Mac???? PLEASEEEEE! Thank you!

    @callie6000 , Sims 2 is no longer available on Origin as the game was sunset by EA in October 2018. However, it sounds like you may have a bad piece of CC or an out of date mod that is causing your game to crash and no longer run properly. The Sims 2 Super Collection is actually very stable on the Mac platform as I run it myself. You cannot add a lot of CC however as this can cause the game to crash even if run on Windows OS. 

    There is a way to reset the game to a vanilla state. However, none of your saved games would be present nor would your CC and mods. If you are interested in doing this, please let me know.

    @Tremayne4260 Thank you so much for answering! I used to have the Sim Blender and CEP. I won't use those anymore even though they ran well for two months. The glitch I had earlier this week week was because I deleted all the downloads in my folder and I tried to move my sims into a house that had missing files, so that was my mad. Now, I only use maxis match cc and default skins, hairs, and clothes. Do you think that is safe? The only cheat I use is 'maxmotives' and I think it's pretty safe to use. Also, what do you mean by sunset and vanilla state?

    @callie6000 , "sunset" means the game is still playable, but no longer actively updated or sold by the developer (in this case EA). "Vanilla State" refers to restarting the game with no saved games, CC or mods present. It would be like the first time you played the game.

    So glad you got your game working again. 🙂

    Thank you for the descriptions! That was very useful. Just wondering, do you think Maxis cc is safe and using defaults? I am also using 'maxmotives' and 'motherlode' as a cheat sometimes.

    @callie6000 , it's up to you which CC you use. I find the use of "default replacements" (meaning it replaces the Maxis content) can be temperamental at times. Sometimes it works, other times not so much. But again that's your choice. The Maxis color match CC, I have some of myself, but not a huge amount. And any CC made by Maxis is always safe to add to your game.

    In regards to Motherlode, I use it all the time and since it does not remain on all the time. It doesn't hurt or corrupt your game. Maxmotives is similar in that it doesn't remain on all the time and is a "one use" cheat in a manner of speaking. (Meaning you have to enter it each time you want to use it).

    @Tremayne4260 Thank you again for the help and advice! I hope one day we can convince Aspyr to release the rest of the expansions and stuff packs (HOPEFULLY!)

    @Tremayne4260 I spoke too soon. My sim (Dustin Broke) lost relation to Brandi Broke! She can family kiss him, but he doesn't have the option to do that anymore. I don't have any bad CC though!!! I'm so frustrated haha.

    @callie6000 , Sim Blender can fix that. I use it in my game and it hasn't broken my game and in fact fixes certain problems. Like the Ottomas family.
