Sims Busting Out

Dear The Sims / EA / Maxis Team,

I’m writing to you with what may be one of the most sincere, nostalgic, and admittedly desperate requests you’ll ever receive:

Please bring The Sims Bustin’ Out to PC.

I know how ridiculous that might sound at first. It’s an old game. It was released over twenty years ago. There are newer Sims games, bigger Sims games, more technically impressive Sims games.

But none of them are The Sims Bustin’ Out.

For me, that game wasn’t just another Sims title. It was one of those games that became part of my childhood—one of those experiences that permanently attaches itself to a particular time in your life. The GameCube, the music, the neighborhoods, the characters, the strange little stories, the careers, the houses, the feeling of unlocking something new…

It was real GameCube entertainment.

And as an avid Sims fan, Bustin’ Out had something incredibly special about it. It felt different. It had personality. It had an adventure to it. You weren't simply creating a family and building a house—you were actually going somewhere. You had goals. You had characters you remembered. You had places you wanted to unlock.

And somehow, after all these years, there is one thing that still bothers me:

I never beat the game.

I KNOW.

I had all that time. I played it over and over. I loved it. And somehow, I never made it to the end.

And now that I’m an adult, that unfinished childhood mission has somehow become even more important to me.

I want to finish it.

I want to sit down at a PC, start The Sims Bustin’ Out from the beginning, and experience that game again—not through some blurry memory of a GameCube hooked up to an old television, but properly. I want to hear that music again. I want to revisit those neighborhoods. I want to see those characters. I want to play through the entire story that I somehow left unfinished all those years ago.

There is something incredibly special about allowing people to revisit the games that helped shape their childhood.

And I know I cannot possibly be the only person asking for this.

There is an entire generation of Sims fans who grew up with these console games. People who remember Bustin’ Out, The Urbz, the original console Sims, and all of those wonderfully strange experiences that existed alongside the main PC franchise.

We grew up.

We got jobs. We got responsibilities. We became adults.

But some of us still remember sitting in front of that GameCube, completely absorbed in our little Sim worlds.

And honestly?

We still want to go back.

A PC release doesn't necessarily have to mean rebuilding the entire game from scratch. A remaster, a re-release, a faithful port, a digital edition, a collection—whatever form makes sense—I would be grateful for the opportunity to simply play this game again on a modern system.

Please don't underestimate what these older games mean to the people who played them.

Sometimes a game doesn't need to be the newest, biggest, or most advanced thing on the market.

Sometimes people just want to go home.

The Sims Bustin’ Out is one of those games for me.

So, on behalf of my younger self—who apparently could never finish the **bleep** game—and my adult self, who still desperately wants to:

Please bring The Sims Bustin’ Out to PC.

Give me one more chance to finish what I started.

I promise I’ll finally beat it this time.
