Is anyone else getting cheated out of sims FreePlay work resources lol?

It seems like I’m not getting all my resources when I send my sims to work and make them help others once I’m finished with all the tasks they aren’t giving me all my resources to save in order to build the next section in the work places police station wants 1000 flashlights and 150 donuts how the heck am I supposed to get there if my sims are basically helping for free lol
