Failure to return to game with increased rewards

After watching ad to increase rewards, as takes me to App Store when I first press x and attempts to return me to the game only after second or later press of x (it is consistent with taking me to the App Store on first press, less so on second or later).  Pressing “back to Sims Mobile” in the upper left of the App Store screen takes me back to the ad, then when the x does work, I either get a game restart or it freezes (usually on loading screen but last time in game - the game screenshot is of the frozen tableau: there is a second I took a minute later but I can only choose three files.

I’ve received the full reward 1 in 6 tries (5 in 6 freezes)
