disband alliance

I have read a few of the chat with others about disbanding alliances but they don't seem to work. my alliance I created and I am the CIC and only member when I click on my name in the alliance tab the only thing that is clickable is the set member role. when I try and set my role lower I get a error. and the leave alliance button is grayed out. there doesn't seem to be a disband button. help anyone please. :)
