Nice! I just grouped my pirate ships together but it still needs some work. I finally unlocked the remaining water squares so I'll be respacing everything out. Getting more tiles from the submarine has been a huge help! I like your placement of the ghost ship, I’ve been struggling to find a good spot for mine.

I keep that submarine tasked underwater constantly, searching for more pier tiles! I've got about 100 on hand right now.

The trick with my Ghost Ship, was perfecting the spacing so it appears in the water, without overlap conflicts with the other boats, while also keeping its anchor ON A DOCK. The way i have it now, i had to place 3 dock tiles around it, then place the ship, then use the "surface mod trick" to remove the 3 unwanted tiles. This allows the anchor to appear it's just on the edge, but still on the pier. (Yes, the surface trick can help add roads under things, but also helps remove pier tiles under things too)

Nice, I can see the anchor is just a little off. I never would’ve guessed the mod trick was needed for it! I used it to remove the middle dock tile from under the pirate bridge to make it look like the two dock tiles were linked by the bridge…the uses for that mod are endless!!

That bridge looks great! And I love your use of the dudes in that little jail cell window! I need to find mine and try to integrate with my new design too. If I can find it, lol. Thanks for the inspiration here!

I just used the trick to place my Hellfish treasure box on the beach, but this beach had only one land squares available, because of the cemetery there.
So I used two tricks:

• first place a pier tile in the water;
  
• then using the Area Select Tool to drag that tile onto the beach edge;
  
• then place the Chest half way on each;
  
• then use the Surface Mod trick to remove the tile, leaving the Chest on the beach exactly where I wanted it, so it looks washed ashore.
  

It’s little details like this throughout my SF that make designing in this game so enjoyable for me. I love it!!

Love it! I hadn’t figured out how to put stuff on the beach…there’s so much I’ve wanted to put there, too! So much designing in my future! Lol

This is the New Stuff
I’m posting pics of all my coastline designs to this thread, since much of it is already here. My SF’s entire coastline is designed with a progression of socioeconomic development, increasing in value and exclusivity from right to left (i think is south to north). Let’s take a tour from classy to trashy!

So farthest north is the fanciest pier:

It is uncluttered, with high-brow entertainment options (and of course the cell phone reception is excellent with strong satellite coverage)

Next is the posh SH Yacht Club:

The trendiest place for burning some cash! ?

Next would be the exclusive neighborhood of Fogburyport, including the offshore seafarer’s district (read: pirates settled here) with my Antique Ship Exhibit:


Also offshore of Fogburyport’s beach estates and Resort hotels, is my massive Beach Hut condo resort:

The Resort has a private access walkway to the Squidport.

The SP (and its Shoreline Drive business district) is also structured with economical hierarchy; the higher end businesses at the north end, and the fishing pier and concert stage at the south end:


The new Barnacle Bay Marina now serves as the landmark that divides the resort section of the coastline from the industrial section. The touristy Shoreline Drive terminates at the South End nightclub district. So the beachfront streets do not connect with the primary industrial boulevard, which hosts 3 prisons, 2 recycling centers, the dump, and the Tar Pits.

Next is the AquaWorld Dam, and Burns’ Geriatric Park extension of the SF Nuclear Plant Facility… (image above)

Next is the KB Oil Rig (unpictured); and lastly is a Military pier i added recently:


I still have room for more offshore designs, and with the new ability to craft 2 boardwalk tiles simultaneously, that’s potentially 4 more a day in addition to whatever the yellow sub can dredge up. I am looking forward to future seaworthy events!
