What Have you done...Helter Shelter

I put it my bad area of town also.

  • I've worked at a homeless shelter for the last 10 years, so this is loosely based on my own worksite. :D

    - A brick wall enclosure, so that the cops can herd the homeless onto the property, thus creating the illusion of a community without homelessness.
    - Outdoor dining area for evening meals being served by volunteer agencies.
    - Lots of busted laundry machines because we do about 100 loads a day and can't convince our funders to buy industrial machines.
    - Transitional housing (Brown House) in the back, for clients who are beyond the need of the shelter beds, but aren't quite ready for independent living.

    It looks a little better now that I have Cletus always digging through the dumpster, but I haven't taken a pic of that yet.

    I love this! I borrowed the bit with the laundry machines for my own design (hope you don't mind).
