So i got a hot tip on a race!

But i can't tell if the tip is always bet the longshot or always bet the Blue Racer!

For the Go Karts, it's always bet on the longshot. The payout for the 49-1 odds here are 10 times what they should be (probably a misplaced zero in the coding and it might be 'fixed' later, but as long as the payout is $2,500,000 it's the best deal by far).

    Maths:
    2-1 odds: Win one in three games. Pay $15,000 ($5,000 x 3) and receive $15,000. Profit $0.
    9-1 odds: Win one in ten games. Pay $50,000 ($5,000 x 10) and receive $50,000. Profit $0.
    19-1 odds: Win one in 20 games. Pay $100,000 ($5,000 x 20) and receive $100,000. Profit $0.
    49-1 odds: Win one in 50 games. Pay $250,000 ($5,000 x 50) and receive $2,500,000. Profit $2,250,000.

On the other hand, at Springfield Downs it's irrelevant which odds you pick. Over the long term you'll end up with exactly the same payout - it's a break-even game. You've got two possible strategies: treat it like a real-life change jar (most of us won't miss $2000 here and there and the payout is sweet when it happens) or play for the XP.

    Maths:
    2-1 odds: Win one in three games. Pay $6,000 ($2,000 x 3) and receive $6,000. Profit $0.
    5-1 odds: Win one in six games. Pay $12,000 ($2,000 x 6) and receive $12,000. Profit $0.
    9-1 odds: Win one in ten games. Pay $20,000 ($2,000 x 10) and receive $20,000. Profit $0.
    19-1 odds: Win one in 20 games. Pay $40,000 ($2,000 x 20) and receive $40,000. Profit $0.
    99-1 odds: Win one in 100 games. Pay $200,000 ($2,000 x 100) and receive $200,000. Profit $0.

    XP return:
2-1 odds: Win one in three games. XP payout for win: 75, XP payout for loss: 50 (x2). Average XP return: 58.3.
5-1 odds: Win one in six games. XP payout for win: 100, XP payout for loss: 50 (x 5). Average XP return: 58.3.
9-1 odds: Win one in ten games. XP payout for win: 150, XP payout for loss: 50 (x 9). Average XP return: 60.
19-1 odds: Win one in 20 games. XP payout for win: 250, XP payout for loss: 50 (x 19). Average XP return: 60.
99-1 odds: Win one in 100 games. XP payout for win: 500, XP payout for loss: 50 (x 99). Average XP return: 54.5.

You're Maths is so cool Becker, I LOVE Maths, and now I think I might love you! <3 : wink :

Maybe we should find a way of stickying this to the front page, so everyone can see it. There are bound to be new players who won't see it, or people who simply forget, so I think there's merit ther?

    One man's "sticky worthy" is another man's TL;DR. *

    Just sayin'...

    * The word "man" as used in the above forum post was not meant to imply gender, masculinity, or the requirement to have an external sexual organ; but only to refer to the largest commonality among people known and frequently referred to as human kind.**

** Sorry but i just watched the south park episode with PC Principal and have temporarily lost touch with Reality. ***

***Additional apologies to those who've not seen that episode because you probably don't realize what I'm talking about and so this may not be as funny to you as those who've seen it. ****

****But if you'd like to donate $1...
  • Oops.

I guess I'm a little sleepy still and just selected the Red Racer although I always pick the Blue Racer.

But I just won $2.5 million again though with Red (also won that yesterday via Blue) so no complaints!
  • I haven't won yet yet; Fat Tony keeps fixing the race. Maybe I shouldn't have sent him to prison so often. :P

  • I won the 2.5 million today! I just choose the last car, regardless of color.

I still have two more days on my XP collider, or maybe 3 I don't remember.

    Collider tips:

    1) If you tap on the collider it will tell you how many days and/or hours you have left.
    2) if you play every day, and want to be lazy you can add the Max days more than once.
    A) doing so is a risk, if your life goes nut so and you stop playing you risk wasting donuts.
    B) if you are maximizing KEM farming this is a lesser issue.
    3) it really is possible to make 24/7 collider operation work for you even if rather than Ken farming you minimize
Unproductive structures and have as many productive earning structures as possible.
    4) I've read that seemingly unproductive buildings from West Springfield have hidden bonuses but can't confirm this.

If anyone has a table of secret building bonuses, I'd love to see it.

    5) There's a poll going on one of the threads that suggests that collider use is
Being run 24/7 by around a 2/3 majority of those polled.
    6) That may only mean that 2/3 of those polled are too lazy to boost it only when needed.

Fairness: unless I anticipate missing days of play, I leave it running 24/7 because I'm at Level 929.

    Hope this helps someone.
  • haven't won one yet even though i play 2-3 times a day :? , i always choose the last option regardless of color
  • After about a million bets, I finally won the 2.5 million...with the Blue Racer! :D

First, imgur makes it super easy to resize the image. Just add lowercase "s" "m" or "l" for small medium or large right before .png in the link

Second!! I won this in my level 26 town  which is now level 46(w/XPcollider), HUGE boost for a lower level town!
