I would try turning notifications back on, hard close. Go back to game, turn off the notifications and hard close again. If that doesn't fix, there's always the uninstall/reinstall. If that doesn't work you can turn off notifications in your app manager, but depending on your devise, you may turn off ALL notifications. Then there's always EA support.

I have them off. Think it's a waste for the game to remind me when to play.

If you play multiple towns on a single device, I think you have to go into the other towns to turn the notifications off.

Good call. I forget that a lot of players have multiple towns. Some people have reported that the donut spend confirmation gets turned off with some of the updates, maybe this is happening with notifications as well.

There are two places you have to turn off notifications. There is one in the game settings menu, and another one in the device's App settings for the game. You have to turn them both to OFF.

I've been fighting with notifications since I started playing and I still get them - though not as many.

Your best bet is to un-install the game, power cycle the device, install the game, go to settings for your device and find the App settings and uncheck the receive notifications box, then start the game. Once you're in the game go to the settings and turn them off there.
