Does the mystery box/daily play combo 24 hour log in timer not work properly?

I know I've missed over 24 hours and not had the timer reset. My guess is that it is viewing each day as the 24 hour period during which you need to log in as opposed to needing to log in within 24 h...

The mystery box just got glitchy for me this morning. When I tapped it to see what I got - "nothing" :shock: For some reason my main town has now fallen behind behind my "B" town by two days even though I tap them both equally and now I'm missing a mystery box.
