Drop rate for crafting items?

I have collected crafting items for a little less than two days, and I have 70 lockpicks. Definitely doable. I only have 12 capes and 7 handcuffs, but I know when they drop, capes 4-5 a day and handcuffs 2-3 a day depending on my schedule. Not too worried at this point, still 24 days to go to get at least one of everything.

Indeed. Lockpicks seem to be really scarce and the listed drop rate doesn't match with my own experience (and by reading here many others). I just counted 50 criminals that I tapped and I got 1 lockpick.
This is going to be grind.
On the other hand I was worried about felons but now that looks like the easiest one to me.

Was worried about felon drop too until today. I clear criminals constantly and haven't picked up a lock pick in 3 hours; but during this time, I seem to be getting twice the crystals I was before. Anyone else noticing this?

I haven't noticed an increase in crystals but I'll check for that. I'm now up to 2 lock picks for 68 criminals tapped- checking in off and on for the last 5 hours.

I've had really poor luck with lockpicks as well.. took me almost a day to craft the botanical gardens.. but I'm also having bad luck with phones.. have only gotten 1 after clearing almost half my friends list.

I hope the HQ doesn't increase capes with levels because that would mean that I made my game a lot harder for a few extra pies.

I'm having a lockpick drought, though I have had criminals drop both crystals and lockpicks at the same time. Phones seem to be pretty plentiful.

I got the first five lockpicks very quickly after getting the Collector, but zero since then. I've only had lockpicks drop from criminals in my own town, so I presume that's the only source for them? It would be really nice if we could also get them from visiting neighbors; we capture criminals then, too.

Telephones are 20% and only obtained by visiting neighbors and tapping the phones on their buildings
And as mentioned the lock picks are 10% and obtained from tapping criminals loose in the town.

At least less active players have a chance at getting these items too! Unlike during Halloween :roll:

Same here. I got 3 very quickly then nothing. I seem to be slow at getting crystals in my town as well. Personally, as stingy as they are, I think my crooks are being run by old man Monty. Maybe if I take away his pool, they'll start coughing up the goodies. :mrgreen:
