Drop Rate for Criminals

Maybe because is issue 2 we all completed it so quickly and we earned so many bonus donuts?

So it's clear I think that it's not just us, the drop rate has gone down considerably. I've also had reason to suspect something might be up with the max number of criminals available to accumulate at one time (it WAS 60) and/or the siren is off that tells you this fact.

Overnight on my iPad my Springfield went unchecked for easily 5+ hours, about 9 in fact, and I definitely got no alarm of any kind, and after a 10 minute search I still only found 58. An alarm does happen, as it has on my iPhone-based Second Springfield proves, but I'd been off that nearly 24 hours, and it was still only a preliminary "Holding out for a hero" message. (For those that don't know, typically you get a preliminary message with Homer going "Push Notification" after approx 5 hours, then later-I'm unsure on either length of time-a siren blasts out that scares the life out of you!)

So I think we've got three things to figure out, feel free to agree, disagree, but I want to know the new drop rate, how that affects our likalihood of reaching the goals now, and also whether we need to badger EA for a new update to fix things, especially if our chances of reaching the goals are dangerously difficult.

For anybody still interested, I think the drop rate may now be 10 criminals per hour, as on a couple of occasions I've had 20 after 2 hours.

Your town is doing better than mine. I was off for two hours and came back to 16 criminals last night. And I was careful to include multiple hits with a single tap. I'll check again today, but I sure hope it hasn't decreased from 12 an hour down to 8. My town has certainly seemed much lighter on criminals. Can't imagine there getting scared of Clancy.

No definitely not Wiggum scaring them off, but maybe EA!! I don't know why this is happening though, but I can only guess it's just a small number of us, otherwise people will be up in arms. Do you think you'll get everything?

Mine definitely appears to be down. Left for 4 hours and when I came back there were only 3-4 criminals that I could find. I keep hearing the siren going off (I'm assuming tha mean criminals are around?) but don't seem to see any no matter how many times I scroll through my Springfield. I was expecting to have Death Mountain yesterday but I'll be lucky if I get it by the end of today. Oh well, just have to keep tapping away.

Hmmm, I'm going to go against the grain and say I haven't noticed a drop off. My freeze gun collection appears to progressing normally and I'm not falling behind on reaching the goal of 61,500.

I think the problem is that there is no pop-up to tell us when we've cleared out all the criminals. I go over the same area maybe two minutes after scanning it and suddenly there will be two more criminals where there weren't any before.

What's more ridiculous is that one criminal drops 20 freezerays, yet it takes FOUR HOURS to get 10 from some of the characters that can earn them (freemium). Like why not just make it 50 or something that's gonna make a difference when you need something like 23,000 freezrays between prize 1 and 2.

Yes, I'm an obsessive tapper with no life and timers going off for crafting. Thanks for asking. I did just get Death Mountain and loving the animation. Hope we get a permanent task for it! I think it's like what others have said in that we get so many shots at bonus doughnuts, EA might be wanting it to slow up.
