I think it only works so the simpsons have a huge library of character and places/buildings they can add. I don't think family guy have the same feel unless they open it up to there other spin off sho...

No. Definitely not. I like those shows but am not obsessive about them like I am with The Simpsons. I already don't have enough time to play STO as much as I would like (as evidenced by my town, I've started like 3 different reorgs that haven't gotten completed :( ).
