Future events

Well, there's a couple of statements I don't agree with at all..... :D

NO crafting - make items available with event currency like previous events

I really like crafting. It gives us something to work to. It should be feasible to get all though.

NO weekly additions - give us everything from the start like before. These weekly 'episodes' drag the event out too long and make people lose interest. 50 days is way to long for an event ~30 is enough.

I prefer the marathon to the sprint. It shouldn't be too long either, but the fact they release new items in a couple of times makes it fun to wait.

NO wheels or any other chance based game although EA seem to have moved away from this thankfully.

Here I fully agree.

NO parody events - Stick to events based on Simpsons episodes and the usual Christmas/Halloween events. Never give us anything like clash of clones again. No Star Wars/star trek or anything similar.

I like the parody. The whole intention of the Simpsons is a parody of life. So why wouldn't they make a parody of other games?

Just my two cents.
  • I can definitely see a "Who Shot Mr Burns" update coming up next. Money Mountain and Mr Burn's new costume seem to be a preview to this. Obviously the update would include Maggie, the tilted oil rig, and the sun blocker. The monument where Burns is shot on could also be in it. There are no major holidays anytime soon, and we need another event themed around a classic episode like the Stonecutters event last summer.
  • OP, I agree with you on the timing (I think a month is long enough) and the parody aspect. I hated CoC so much. I had just started really getting in TSTO and CoC killed it for me. Took me a while to recover. Looking back, I think the mechanics of the event weren't bad as upgrading the castles didn't use up the currency to start all over again (I think) which I liked. But I love the Simpsons, so I'd prefer the game to be as themed as possible. I also prefer classic seasons to the new ones, so episode tie ins don't really excite me.

I enjoy crafting in the events and I think Halloween 2014 had the best balance of difficulty and reward. Compared to this event, where I seem to still be so far from crafting anything decent, even though I'm playing regularly.

Ultimately though, EA can't please everyone and I'm pretty happy with the game 95% of the time. :)
