Game lag

Since coming back from 2 years ago I've noticed that my games are considerably lagged down from what I remember. And when I tried recycling at the Railyard they became almost unplayable.
I seem to remember there was something about the ability to turn off building animations, but I can't find it anywhere. Is that a real thing or am I hallucinating?
  • You can certainly turn on the animation on the stuff we got from the spy event, also remove track so that the monorail train stays in the station, but think that the game has been moved to one of the older servers as it is not so popular these days and that contributes to the lag.

Yeah, I did all that long ago.
There is the issue that many of my Krustyland Attractions are doing their animations (it differs from game to game which ones are running), but I tried storing the ones that are running and didn't see any difference.
Speaking of which... I'd thought maybe sending a character to ride the rides might stop them. Any point in trying that or would I just be wasting my time (as in time used to figure out which characters I'd need to send, then tracking them down...)

Um... How could the server contribute to the lag I get when moving around my town? Server response only affects you when you're doing things like loading the game or tapping out a bunch of buildings and/or characters. I'm talking about just trying to move to a different part of town. Oh, and my recyclers were acting funny, too. Some of them were just going in and out of the building doorways without going to the Dump.
  • Do you have the animations in Itchy and Scratcy Land running... Log ride, roller coaster, race track. There were huge issues with them slowing the game down, for some people it became unusable. The control piece of each ride allows you to turn off the animation. For the race track its the building the track goes through.

I quit before Itchy & Scratchy Land, so I have none of those. I just have the old Krustyland rides : The Tooth Chipper, etc. most of which are all playing animations despite not having riders.

Hello @wadebear, the stuff you mentioned I had all that.
KL rides running with no one in, sometimes it was 1 or 2 but I have had all of them like that and no one in any of them.

So they all got stored, no KrustyLand in my Springfield EVER, thanks for destroying the expansion EA that was just what I needed. :( :( :(

The I&SL stuff was horrible, turned them all off, still lagged, moved pieces disconnected the rides, still lagged, stored all of them, didn't lag. so you didn't miss anything there.
I've kept 4 pieces of the Log Ride because they can double as hills, but everything else is stored.

I did get lag with Metal going and even worse with all 3 Depots, the only way I could move across town was by tapping buildings, it was that bad, but one day it just stopped.
I posted a thread about it asking if EA were doing stuff and fixed it, but the answer was a resounding NO.
The iPad had not even been hard closed or anything but the lag just stopped, so I thought it must be the servers as nothing had been done at my end.
It was just left on the side over night the same as usual.

If I scroll to fast while collecting taxes or completed jobs it does get a bit jumpy.
And I have had them recycling but away from any buildings, and they were flickering between walking left and right, though I could scroll ok.

Regularly recycling now just have to scroll and collect a bit slower to avoid lag, if I just scroll stupidly fast it doesn't like that either.

    Hope this helps.
