A janus mask is a two-faced mask, often used as a symbol for the theatre. This will be related to the Opera House. Feel free to call them just masks or theatre masks.
There are sites that speculate what Act 3 will be based on what's in the files. EA can sometimes change things though so some sites don't like to describe what's around the corner since the details or even general aspects may change. However, even sites like tsto addicts are breaking their policy and doling out info on act 3 simply because so many people are confused about this event in general and not sure how to "get ready" for act 3.

One of the craftable items new to Act 3 (that I want) requires DNA, so that's one reason I'm not getting the Gas N Grub now. (Another reason is the upgrading that requires dna that people have already mentioned.)
