I went ahead and got the G&G.
My reasoning is this:
DNA may be in somewhat short supply, but we'll need a lot more masks than DNA to upgrade, so it shouldn't be hard to get the DNA while saving up the masks. You can't get much of a headstart hoarding the DNA.
As far as other craftables go, there's only one big item requiring DNA in act 3. Given the current rates, I shouldn't have any problem accumulating enough for that.
