Give me a strategy for getting to 500% multiplier and/or donut farming?

  • I'm currently at 326.35% multiplier (plus SH).
  • I did mystery boxes awhile back, and I suppose should do more, but will I have to settle for having 50+ news vans etc in my town?
  • I have two Beach Hideaways, don't know if I want to fill my water with 3 more. I buy things like the flag set but don't buy multiples of them. I don't mind my mass of wailing walls (especially since they were "free" and clump together well) but I'm not keen on having bunches of similar items (um, unless Lisa gives me a bunch more mini nukes).
  • I have about 77 million cash and get a little over a million a day I think. There are over 50(?!) land squares I have yet to buy. And about 33 million worth of aspirational items I've yet to purchase. Don't really use money for anything else except when getting donuts via rat trap trucks.
  • Most of my past donuts have been spent on buildings and characters. (I think I have around 160 characters total?) although I'm trying to get more % items now.
  • Sometimes I'll turn on the Collider for a day, do the 25 KEM thing but get bored after a few rounds and then just do a bunch of rat trap trucks, usually buying about 20 million worth (including re-selling them).
  • Currently I technically can access my game many times throughout the day although ideally I wouldn't be glued it it as much.
  • Yes, I'm at level 939.

Do I just need to turn on the collider for longer periods, do more KEM farming, and focus more on buying % items? Should I do more rounds of mystery boxes? Is mainly doing rat traps bad?

For the vast majority of people that farm donuts, being exponential or not is completely irrelevant. What they want is to grow their multiplier in order to get more bonuts to buy more premium items. That's why they donut form. Period.

    Can't argue with that.

  • Sorry, but I feel like I missed something.... how do aspirationals benefit your multiplier?!

They don't. The person who posted about that was talking out of his/her a**. The aspirationals do nothing but eat your money and take up space in your town.

That's what I thought! Thanks for clarifying!
  • The post after OP by @Muhsterino has replied OP's concerns. We were led astray after that point :pensive:

  • I donut farm because I want premium items without paying real money.
  • I am at a 347.90% multiplier with a very neat and organized town, no house farms or kem farms. Never have never will. My choice. I play because its fun and I earn enough free donuts doing the rat trap swap with the generator on.

The often overlooked fact of kem farming and house farming is the ugliness factor in your town and the time/effort required for it to be optimally effective.

When properly executed and dedicated to the schedule its hard to argue that kem farming is not the best/fastest way to earn donuts. The question is do you really want to? For me its a no.

Actually, that's not true at all.
I have all my house concentrated in the SH area, just because it is more convenient to collect revenue. But I used to have them all dispersed throughout town, and I didn't have more than 2 or 3 houses together anywhere - Springfield is enormous these days, plenty of space to disperse things as you see fit.
KEM farming occupies a very small area for 4 hours at a time, and you can stop building them anytime easily, so I don't know how ugly it really makes your town (for me it's uglier having the main buildings of an event in an isolated part of town, to make access to the current event easier).

Yes, it takes time and effort, of course it does. If you play the game at all and want to get something out of it, everything takes some time and effort. For me, donut farming takes less effort than, for example, going through an event like the one that is just ending (I can relax on donut farming anytime I feel like it; for an event, if I relax too much I risk missing some of the prizes).
