The show as we know it is over. It's not possible to do a decent show without him. He's brought to life too many characters, he's part of the very fabric of The Simpson's. You can play devil's advocate and try to argue otherwise but in your heart you know it's true. Someone needs to drive a dump truck full of money up to his house and fix this.
