Yes! He has a three part quest line that produces them for free. But you have to do all 3 (all 12 hours) for each single bonsai, so 36 hours total to make one.

36 hours is pretty dang reasonable, considering they otherwise cost 12 donuts. Akira is easily one of the best values in the game.

Personally I have I think 5 placed in my town, and twenty more in my inventory. I've since been having Akira "karate chop" his way around my town as I normally run my toons at 8hrs intervals, but he's 2/3 through another tree as I have done a couple 12hr mission-sets recently.

Akira has one of my favorite questlines when you first get him. It's quite funny. He's got VO and a couple cool animations. He makes a decoration (as far as I know, he's the only character that does, right?). And the Happy Sumo building that comes with him looks great and has a nice payout.

I think I have about 20 combined between my town and inventory. Love that he can produce unlimited decorations! I have slowed down a bit lately as I have been putting my characters with 'costume' tasks on those most of the time along with the trick or treaters - these are Akira's Karate Time, CBG's Cosplay, and Chalmers' Break Character.

Didn't know about the bonsai trees!

Been looking for something to drop doughnuts on and just bought Akira and the sushi place! :)
