The market definition of a "monthly player" is a player who logged into the game at least once in the month. The player however does not need to log in any other time the rest of the year to end up counting as part of the average of monthly players. However a sharp decline in this monthly players number would be a primary indication of a game failing to continue to appeal to it's target audience. And ultimately would mean it being discontinued. As long as the monthly players remain in the millions I doubt TSTO would end any time soon.
