How many shovels are you saving for Act 2?

reversing that strategy may be more practical. it would nerve me to keep a constant eye on the cap. calculate how long it takes, given your game playing style, to aquire 199 shovels. just play until you reach the moment where the left time is needed to fill the store to the brim. and maybe a bit more if it is like the sh stores.

Do make sure you pass on the re-rolls, at $150,000 each they're not cost effective vs. KEM/RatTrapTruck farming (re-rolls for those only cost $50,000)

Is anyone else finding it hard to get shovels? I tap and tap, it is hard. I can't see me finishing this task even though I am on all day.

The only way to get shovels is from the tasks at the Mom & Pop Hardware store - there are only 7 characters you can send there, for a max. of 17 shovels every four hours which seems to be more than enough.

If you don't have the premium characters though, it would cut that almost in half making it a lot tougher.

I started saving after I got Caveman Moe. I am currently at 85.

You get the same amount of fossils per shovel weather you use them on one excavation or on many excavations. Best strategy is still to get the gem in as few moves as possible
Example: (assuming no bonus from panini press)
Use 100 shovels to clear 3 excavations you get 3600 fossils and 3 gems
Use 100 shovels following the pattern on 14 excavations you get 3600 fossils and 14 gems (assuming avg 7 digs to find gem)
plus tachyons and specimens from 14 excavations.

I'll get both of the main prices in akt 1 before thinking of saving anything. I've gotten the baby t-rex just now and working towards moe's cave..

I'm going to hoard one shovel, just because we all need a shovel for unexpected events that might arise. Other than that, I play often enough to not need a head start and will continue playing the fun digging game!
