It usually takes me a while to clear out neighbors that haven't played in a while. I usually do it during event time and no more than three or four times a year. I cleared once during the spring and just again a few weeks ago. Some of my neighbors hadn't played in eleven or so weeks. Some - four or so. One bombed their town and didn't return. Events can be taxing, even on the most dedicated players. I always check to see how long it has been since they last logged in and try to make a guess as to their playing status and if they gave up on the game. But I also realize that others have outside lives (really, it's true!) and go away for vacation (it's summer, after all, I just returned from a long vacation myself!). But I am really second-guessing the need for a full neighbor list. Going through the list each day can take a long time and even though I have some neighbor spaces available, I probably won't fill them until after summer, when i can dedicate more time to my neighbors. (I had even planned on bombing my town to redo it but that will have to wait a few weeks and I hope that my neighbors won't dump me in the middle of an event because there is nothing to click for a few days while I work on town redesign.
