I like how you ignore all the stuff I said about the common symbolism between the two religions (Buddhism having originated in India and all) and how the "ice god" could be any number of different symbols/deities from both religions, just because you think the "miscellaneous" comment is just so hilarious. This is the second time you've done this after I outlined some of the similarities of symbols and how many different things have been depicted with multiple arms.
Well, a similar argument could be made that Christianity, Judaism and Islam have a common root and many prophets figure prominently in two or even all three religions (e.g. Jesus, under the name Isa Ibn Maryam, is considered a messenger of God in Islam; Moses/Musa is an important figure for all three religions). Yet you won't find that many people who will agree that these three religions are interchangable enough to use the devotional object of one religion in the context of another.
In other words: I do find it somewhat condescending to claim that a deity that's clearly meant to stem from Hinduism fits seemlessly in front of a Buddhist temple, because the two religions have a "common symbolism".- Anyone know if the 2.25% bonus has also melted away?? :?
- Mines currently sticking its finger (I think that's a finger)up at whoever sees the Buddhist temple

Sooo, explain to me how it's "clearly" meant to stem from Hinduism when this is a Buddhist symbol:

The ice god is not holding anything or wearing much of anything, so it lacks distinctive indicators of what it's meant to symbolize. Small details are quite important in such religions, and the statue lacks any such detail.
(The first time I saw it, I was almost certain it was Avalokiteshvara. And yes, I have a longstanding familiarity with Buddhism, having been raised by Buddhist parents, this isn't just stuff I'm pulling out of my a**)neuroheart wrote:

Because on the show, the statue is created by Apu and Manjula?
(By they way, as much as I sometimes rejoice arguing for the sake of arguing, I don't really feel like going on with this discussion. Being a lapsed Catholic myself, I feel increasingly awkward making a point here on behalf of people who might actually feel offended by how someone talks about what s/he does with an item s/he won on a game based on an irreverent TV show.)83jonrotton1 wrote:
Ummm, by that silly reasoning Muslims and Jewish people should have the same goals, right? Common symbols appear in all religions.
Well, yeah, they probably should. Conflict between people who worship the same exact deity is silly, but that's kind of outside the discussion of why the ice god works in front of the Buddhist temple in Tapped Out. That reason being because it looks like a Buddhist symbol (Avalokiteshvara) as much as it looks like a Hindu symbol. This being the case, it probably works best by the Buddhist temple. It looks good there, it potentially suits the religion, etc. If we had Apu's apartment, it might work better there, since apparently he carved it on the show, but we don't have his apartment and we don't have any other good statue for the temple. (And now it's melted and we're back to not having a good statue for the temple, which makes me a sad panda.)
Decorations in this game are sadly limited. If the game designers release a crucifix, are people going to whine this much about it being put in front of the Presbylutheranism church? Or are a lot of players going to say, "Well, this is where it fits best," and put it there?Dalekbuster523 wrote:
You should have stored it like I did. Then you would still have it.
And you lose the bonus percentage by storing it.Shortyy01 wrote:
