England gave Canada its freedom so we have the queen on our money as an honorary gesture to say thank you and we have a Governor General that represents the queen in our parliament when we pass laws they must sign it to say the queen accepts this law but it all is honorary we don't have to ask England if we can do this or that but out of respect to them giving us freedom we show out gratitude in these ways and that's why we spell words they same way England does such as colour neighbour honour armour etc.
England "gave you freedom" Yet they still have to sign of on your laws? That doesn't sound like freedom to me. Especially when the Queen has a representative in your Gov't. That means they are still using their influence to control what laws are and are not made. That's not freedom. When another controls you no matter how subtly it is not freedom.
The Governor General is chosen by our pm to be an honorary symbol of the queen in our parliament nothing to do with the Queen having actual power
And I'm sure the Governor General NEVER tries to influence how votes are cast for various laws. Seems Legit.
