Keep your liberal anti gun propaganda out of the game please. I play this game to have fun. I don't care about Matt Groening's views about republicans or tea party people thanks!

Gun owners should be locked away in a mental home. They need therapy.
That might be taking it a bit far, unless you're being sarcastic in which case high five.
No. I was not sarcastic.
There is NO reason whatsoever to privately own a gun (I don't speak of military, police or security/body guard use. That's ok). There could be exception for sport shooting in a club (where the guns are kept locked away and never leave the premises)
The reason people wan to own a gun is either
a) they have fun killing (humans and animals)
b) irrationally think that they could bring down a dictator (laughable)
c) think they could be a super hero and fight against a villain.
All three reasons are signs of mental illness that need to be treated. Any sane person doesn't need or want a gun.
Having a gun or a rifle does not help at all against a dictatorship with Apache gunship helicopters and hellfire missiles, tanks, fighter jets, SEALS, Marines, Delta Corp, Army Rangers, etc.
Having a gun does NOT level the field and protects you. Instead it raises the stakes and makes pretty sure that you will be shot. In addition is statistically proven that owning a gun increases the risk that a family member will be killed multiple times over. For example by a gun accident. Happens all the times.
While I am certainly no gun proponent and there are certainly many gun nuts out there.... your post goes to show that there are nuts on both sides of the issue.Jeebus42 wrote:
A while our English mates are well within reason to give us grief about our rate of gun violence, one should keep in mind that Britan banned guns to curb gun violence, banned knives to curb knife violence, and now leads the civilized world in the production of shatter-proof pints after 87,000 people got 'glassed' in 2010....
My only point, being that if someone wants to hurt someone else, they don't really need firearms.
Yes, I know about the mass shooting arguement, but recall that China had a "Sandy Hook" last year with a guy wielding a knife..... :?
and the shatterproof glasses are working a treat. If the idiots go onto something else we'll ban that as well. You see the vast majority of us want to live in peace without fear of violence or being killed or injured and the vast majority of the time we do. We don't need to carry knives or guns to do that.cjryder625 wrote:

You can do some real damage to a guy with a bat or a flashlight or a cane or a brick or a branch or a scissors or a broom or a chair or a fork, etc etc. But it would be tough to live without those things. Jeebus is right (but then, isn't He always?): if you're looking to damage someone, there's always something near at hand to assist you.cjryder625 wrote:

And this is why you have people being hacked to death in your streets. Also explain why a recent survey showed 70% of people in the UK want the right to own handguns to defend themselves from these attacks?shaygitz wrote:

yes of course you can but a gun does a hell of a lot more damage than a broom or a chair or fork!!swmwshrk wrote:

Also explain why a recent survey showed 70% of people in the UK want the right to own handguns to defend themselves from these attacks?- All in all it's just a video game ya you can link it to reality with their gun laws but whatever it's a fun game funny quests and story snippets most of the time. However true or may be that the us has really loose gun control laws but it could've been worse. I like this forum topic for the fact that basically every side has been debated without this whole you suck cause you don't agree with my views or your a loser cause you feel this way, crap, So thumbs up to everyone for keeping it respectful and not insulting ppl on their views.
Ps I live in Canada and here you have to take a safety course with a practical and written test for non restricted firearms ( rifles and shotguns) and safety course for restricted firearms( handguns, guns with a foldable stock or shorter barrel). And have to get at least 80% on both parts in order to pass usually costs about 175 for both courses and than fill out the application send it to RCMP headquarters where they call your three references and do a full background check including criminal, financial, mental health and usually takes a minimum of 45 days just to get your license to posess and acquire firearms. in my opinion I didn't mind waiting almost two months to be able to possess and acquire as it makes it safer for everyone. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/10071072/Telegraph-new-law-competition-vote-now.html The survey is now at 86% wanting handguns back.
