- Premium seems too much like a subscription service if you want to enjoy full features. I do not like the model at all. That said, I will buy sometimes if I really like the item and have extra money. Has to be spaced out.
- I'll spend 25 every month so 6.25 a week ain't bad. Went from freemium to premium in 8 months...
- Here's my take on the topic. How much is the game worth to you? In a game using this income model it is the question you want to ponder rather than is it worth spending money on. The simple answer to the poll question is yes if you want any of the stuff that costs money. The real question is how much should you spend. And that is a much more complicated thing a simple poll can't answer for you.
To me the game was worth $50 so far and I have no foreseeable future purchase that I intend on making. If I buy any near future premium content it will be with donuts I got through game play. This is mainly due to the downward trend I am seeing with premium content being more about milking us than about a good balance between free and paid. If the stuff were always there for us to get it would be one thing but to have a huge amount of it for a limited time and then for a limited time within that limited time without any timer letting us know that plays with people and gets some people to spend money they shouldn't because of a fear instilled in them that they will never be able to get that item again or that it will disappear real soon. But anyways I digress there and my post is not meant to be a soap box speech. But I said that to provide reason for what I feel/felt the game worth.
But you also have to consider your income and expenses in life too, and what other stuff you want to spend your money that is left over after living expenses. To decide how much you can spend on this game and then decide how much of that you feel the game is worth of that. Also keeping in mind the amount of content the game has and will have in the future. These "mobile" games have quite a lot less content in comparison to console games and even online games (like MMOs for example) that have earned their accepted price tag model of ~$50) and some even the monthly fees can be justified; considering the amount of content you get with that fee when comparing that to the previously accepted pricing model of expansion packs.
With that in mind what I see in TSTO is a base game that would have cost $5-$10 in the price tag model with a handful of small expansions that would have cost ~$3 each in the price tag model. So I figured my $50 justified the current content I had when I started playing plus the new stuff I got up to that point and a little more for future content. If I'm still playing this game quite some time from now I may very well feel that enough content has come out or will come out to have exceeded that $50 and I'll spend more based on the same criteria. - AnnathewickedRising Traveler

How much do you like pixels?
While I know this is a joke - thats like saying how much do you like words when buying a book or pictures when watching a movie. Donuts are 100% worth it IMO, whithin reason of your individual means. If you spent $100 per year, and play daily, you'd be averaging about 27cents per day. You can't find cheaper entertainment.
Definitely a joke, I would be a liar if I said I never spent $$ on donuts. It is rare for me
I love my pixels! - Spending money adds a little more content which is good. I wish ea were smarter and gave donuts for completing sets of characters - it would encourage people to complete more sets and spend a little more to do it. It would kind of be a pat on the back for people that do spend money of the game too. The family guy game does this - spend 550 clams to complete a set, get 100 clams for completing it.
- It's worth it and it's not worth it. It's a cheap cost if you have the money or you are using money given to you but it's more expensive than other video games out there...

I have more money than I know what to do with right now, and I was thinking about buying some donuts. Just to buy a few cool things for my town and probably some premium Christmas stuff. What do you guys think, worth it or no?

Yeah, they need to make a commercial about me with Sarah McLachlan in the background and begging people for help- It all depends on whether YOU think it's worth it or not.
I believe that money spent should be measured in joy. If it gives you joy, then just do it.
For instance, I never understood why some people pay hundreds or even thousands to go on a holiday far away and then spend the majority of their holiday sleeping by a pool or reading a book. That to me is a waste of money. But lots of other people find enjoyment in that so who am I to judge?
Similarly many people would think buying "pixels" is a waste of money but in the end it all depends on how you feel about it.
Everybody in the world spends money on things others find a waste of money. If you worry about what others find to be a waste of money then the only things you'll be spending your money on would be paying your bills, canned food, and basic clothes.
