Just got First Church of Lard Lad at 11:30 PM Pacific Time Oct 7th

I guess about 50 other people did too!
  • I wonder if we will be getting the next prize at some time next Monday night/ tues morning?
  • We should be able to get in in 5 days, 6 at most. The last few billion we got, we reached in about a day. The increments have not gone down but may go up more. So figuring 1 billion a day we should be able to get it in 5 days.

I think it's absolutely adorable that you still believe this is a legitimate counter. Just precious.

How do you know it's not? Why don't they make a real time counter? Too expensive?
Is te counter even close to the actual amount, like is it an average?

How do I know? Because it's too predictable and consistent. The event lasts five weeks, and after one, we've reached the first of five, 5 billion goo community prizes. That's not a coincidence.

Why don't they make a real time counter? Because EA's programmers probably aren't competent enough to do so (seriously, they can't even make their game run smoothly on the most up to date and high powered iPad). Beyond that, they want dramatic effect and they can't guarantee that with a legitimate counter. Who knows when/if we would actually reach 5bil 5 times? They may never get to see their final prize rewarded if they relied on us. That would be a waste of design time.

Who knows what the actual count is? It doesn't matter. We're all going to get all 5 community prizes. The real benefit to long term goo collecting are the donuts for every 2k after you reach 10k.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not telling you to stop collecting goo. Quite the opposite. I'm just saying, forget about the community prizes. We're going to get them regardless.

Your cynicism is way over the top. Who cares of its a fake counter? You're actually complaining that EA's Tapped Out programmer's are ensuring everyone recieves all 5 community prizes? Are you kidding me?

As for the game not working "smoothly" on your iPad, sucks for you. But it's strange since my game runs fine on my iPhone 4, and always has.

Also, it's entirely possible the counter is real. Not saying it is, but it's possible. Don't forget its a global total, meaning there's probably no real downtime since even here in the US, when most people are sleeping, there are still hundreds of thousands or millions playing in Europe, Asia, Australia, etc. Just because the collection rate is steady doesn't mean its fake. Also, while I'm no tech genius, I'm quite sure it's not beyond their abilities to transmit the global totals which are already being recorded by their servers anyway. The counter may not be exact and an estimation of those totals, but that's still a reliable estimation if true, and not "fake".

And again, even if it is fake, who cares? They're literally giving us free items in the game, and do regularly even outside of the normal updates (like the episode tie-ins, limited time non-donut items, etc). What's there to complain about?
  • I dont care if the counter is real or not. All I am said was that the counter hasn't slowed down at all and we should get the next prize in about 5 days. And so far I am right. we are just hours away from another billion. It will not be 1 prize a week (7 days). As we hit each prize the next prize will come sooner than it took to reach the last prize.
  • Go to the global counter. Tap the global icon with the group of people on it. Do It several times very quickly. Watch the counter go up substantially with each tap.
  • All i can say is its a top update and EA has done a mega job. Be lucky if we get another update this good
