I haven't tried (nor was I going to try) since I heard about the glitch. So when you come back into the game after the freezing is it normal again until you mess with KL tiles? Are the tiles still removed?

The game behaves normally once relaunched after a crash. Path segments can’t be removed — period. Attempting to do so immediately crashes the game.
