Left 4 Dead

Best series EVERRRRRRR

I was just talking about this yesterday, don't have copies of either at the moment but I'm considering buying L4D2 again. Both games were so intense. I played both ALOT and no matter how much you play hearing the sound of a witch crying or screaming, or hearing a boomer around the corner, or the sight of a tank tossing cars at you, the game consistently supplies white knuckle action.

    Agreed. 100%.

    I thought that there won't be L4D3

Sadly I don't see a L4D3 coming out anytime soon. Valve is having massive success with Steam (and DOTA2), and has put almost nothing into game development for consoles since Portal 2. I'm glad to see they are doing well, and on to bigger and better things, but it is depressing because they made some awesome games, and they didn't try to squeeze every penny from their customers like those two evil vowels up at the top of my screen.

    Lol
  • A woman with a 3rd grader at our school was talking about this. I had asked her what she thought about the fact that XBOX has mostly mature games and her response was "I let her play Left 4 Dead and just turn the volume off". This was her same comment about Call of Duty. She's letting an 8 year old play these games.

Anyways - I know nothing about this game. What is the age range? I'm assuming mature? I should find out so I can head my kid off before he asks for it since some of the others are playing.

It's rated 18 in the UK. Really violent game. It's only really blood and gore and shocks. I love it though :D
  • I love left 4 dead!! I have bought some DLC, but i dont remember which one, but it was definately worth it. And to the person asking if their 8 year old should play this, i would say no, because it is extremely bloody amd could scare him/her. But of course it all depends on the kid and thier maturity level. A little off topic here but do you guys play Dead Rising or State of Decay? Along with left 4 Dead, those are my three all time favorite zombie games

Ive Played dead rising 1&2 a couple of times, the only one I own is DR2: Case Zero, I think it is called that. Its a downloadable game on Xbox (don't know about PlayStation) but I loved it and have completed at least 3 times.

I've played L4D 1 & 2 RELIGIOUSLY on the XBox 360 since they were released. L4D2 is simply the BEST co-op i've ever played. There's nothing like running all five L4D2 campaigns with a tight team who works cooperatively. I primarily play on Advanced mostly because there are usually more serious and mature players.

I have all the DLC for L4D2. The original DLC (The Passing, The Sacrifice, and the port of Mercy Hospital fro L4D1) is pretty good, although the first two only had three acts each. The most recent Cold Stream DLC, which included ports of the remaining L4D1 campaigns, came with quite a few bugs. The Cold Stream campaign was community-developed and then officially released by Valve.

There's a huge L4D2 developer community for the PC. There are some fantastic community-developed campaigns for the PC. I've played a number of them on the PC, but I stopped serious PC gaming about 5 years ago so I my rig isn't quite up to snuff and L4D2 can get pretty laggy on it.

If you want, PM your gamer tags to me and we can play a couple campaigns one night!
