Unfortunately act 2 starts in about 10 hours and I don't believe that there is any way to get the lost time back.

The updates were released around August 11th. The times are fixed. In the future when you see things when visiting friends, such as the monorail stations it would be a good idea to see if an update is out. For IOS check the ITunes Store, for Android the Play Store. That way you will miss the least amount of time. The updates were forced after the first couple of days, you should have seen a message telling you it was time for an update. There is still lots left in the event though, so good luck in Acts 2 and 3
