Has it been 24 hours since you tapped the last one? I don't think it matters whether or not you have a Challenge to tap one, they only appear every 24 hours.

Ah, is that what it is. Maybe they should have a counter to tell you when your 24 hours is up, like they do for neighbor visits.

I haven't been able to find him so I've canceled that task and got a different one instead that I can do. I haven't got time to keep searching for him!!

I'm gonna cancel my daily task too- I haven't seen one since the update and the initial dialogue/task with that first one. I'm not going to spend days trying to finish a daily task because the stupid thing never appears.

The initial Bandit quest glitched on me and I got it three times in a row.
That was last night, eager to see if it will happen again this evening. I know it may not but I seem to get 'repeat' quests often. Not a bad bug to have. lol

I have capture a Big Bandit as my daily task too, but I'm not going to cancel it. I'm pretty sure that clicking on the challenge will take me directly to my big bandit once my 24 hours is up and I won't have to search for him at all. I don't mind letting those daily challenges pile up; you can have three active ones at once.

I cancelled that task too as I couldn't find him. Now I have a sidebar task to find him but he has still not appeared. I even looked in Krustyland. Please not another glitch...

nah, you just have to hunt for him.... turn off everything but the people layer and scan around... easier to spot him that way.

I just a popup saying that the big bandit is loose. Don't cancel the task guys and gals. You'll get an alert saying when the big bandit is around.

I turned everything off and found him. He was moving very slowly behind a building.
