That's why he said kinda. We've known that it won't work on old iPods for weeks after today's updates. They're just posting that again to remind people to make Origin accounts in order to save their progress if they want to keep playing the game. Not everyone checks Facebook daily to see those updates and not everyone pays attention to those updates so they have to repeat them or be flooded with "What the heck, my game should be working but the new update broke it and now I can't get into it at all" posts on their Facebook page and in this very forum.
