Has anyone started to look for another game to replace this one? I always loved the Halloween and Christmas themed events. I also liked the one big one in the summer. I really do think that they went overboard on the events. Does anyone know if there is a similar game that does holiday themed events?
I have Family Guy and Disney Kingdoms but neither one comes close to TSTO.
I am weary now of spending money. Who's to say these other games won't shut down either?
I was looking at SimCity Buildit doesn't look as good as TSTO but you get to build a town which is what I have enjoyed doing in TSTO. I was just about to download it until I noticed it is from EA, so stopped myself, I don't want to start playing the game, get addicted then 10 years down the line EA decide to stop the game

The closest to TSTO that I have found is Family Guy - Quest for Stuff.
I had it downloaded a few years back & found it to be very similar ie you build up your town, but removed it as TSTO in my opinion was far superior.
Have re-downloaded it to find I have to start from scratch !

I’m currently giving Family Guy another chance after quitting it several years ago. It’s not looking promising though. Too many tasks, not enough town-building, the controls are clunky, and I recall it being almost impossible to complete an event in the allotted amount of time (without spending money on premium currency to speed it up anyway, which is no doubt the point).
I’m also giving Family Guy another go, having to start from the beginning as my previous build from years ago is gone. I wish I could say I’m enjoying it, finding the same restrictions as you mention above. The current event I have no hope of finishing in time & to be brutally honest it’s not worth spending money on it.
Edit to add - If you have young children who also played TSTO do NOT download Family Guy for them…it has some very crude humour.

Annoyingly it's what kept me with TSTO for such a long time, I tried the Family Guy one but it sucked, played and got bored of various other mobile games that I don't play anymore.
Might be worthwhile having a look at the Disney one (I haven't tried that), but after what has happened with TSTO it will make me carefully consider what game to a - allow myself to get addicted to, and b - put my money into (I dread to think how much money I put into the game, but thought, I have been playing the game for years, I can't see it randomly shutting down so might as well, so started putting money into the game - 7 years later it comes to an end).
Also be worth considering what company built the game as to whether it will keep with longevity as I would not like a repeat of this to occur
Disney Kingdoms has good graphics and simulated 3D, but you can't create roads and land plots are irregular shapes and cost a lot of potions (in-game cash). Gems are like donuts. Disney just increased in game cost of everything too. A rip off. When you unlock Land, you have to wait a certain amount of time before its available, like Family Guy, but longer. The more it cost, the longer you have to wait. I had to wait 2 days once. Stupid.
I forgot to mention. You are limited to about 100 characters in the kingdom too. Stupid.
I'm just playing Wordscapes. It kills time and it's abit of a distraction

I am going to save up for Civ VII. It's $200 Australian for the game plus all (current) DLC. Comes out next year some time.
