New Game

Has anyone started to look for another game to replace this one? I always loved the Halloween and Christmas themed events. I also liked the one big one in the summer. I really do think that they went overboard on the events. Does anyone know if there is a similar game that does holiday themed events?

I hated family guy quest for stuff, gave a good go a few times. The drops rates and impossible events and the constant crashing ….

There is a goosebumps town game. The storage situation is a huge issue but it seems ok so far. Still no where near as good a simpsons. Hopefully they will come up with something exactly  the same as simpsons just with made up characters….. please some one, make it! lol

  • I've switched over to a Hidden Object game. It's repetitive but they do mark the different holidays and have snow in winter, and leaves in the fall and other little touches that we use to get in TSTO.  There are sort of storylines but also just plain mindless jewels matching or monster killing to zone out about.  And you don't build the town but new parts of town are unlocked each month.  It doesn't have the nostalgic edge that TSTO but it's a decent time suck and for freemium players, you can manage to advance without spending money but for those willing to pay to speed things up, there are options for that as well.

You shouldn't be too surprised to see that other games are developed in a way that makes it necessary to spend money in order to reach an aim. TSTO was money-hungry too, and once or twice a year I bought some donuts. But then they gave us the ability to build donuts on our own. And I think, that is one of the things that killed the game.

Don't forget that servers are huge and expensive, and they need a lot of space and electricity (which is also a problem for the environment). Don't be surprised that game makers have to make sure that the games make a profit. Companies like ea are not social enterprises. You work commercially.

And as I read at a another place, it's also a question of ending licences for using the characters of the Simpsons.

Don't misunderstand me. I love the game, and I'm so sad about its near end that I almost can't bring myself to entering the game since I know that the end is near. I will miss it.
