Nooooooo :(

my confirm donut spend has mysteriously been turned off since yesterday :(

Not to sound rude or anything, but if you were aware since yesterday that the confirm was off, why did you not re-select it, save yourself the heartache?

In the event you just misspoke (or I misunderstood) and meant that you assume it mysteriously got switched off sometime between now and yesterday, I have read many reports here that the confirmation setting can sometimes reset when an update occurs. Might be good practice to check the settings every time something new gets added, to avoid this kind of thing in the future.

I don't know EA's policy on reimbursement in regards to wrongful purchases (or if they have ever done such), but perhaps a mail to them would help. *shrugs*
  • No, by since yesterday I mean I had checked that it was still on yesterday (was browsing premium items and I usually check in case I accidentally click something) and it definitely was still on. I've had no update since then and no reason to think that it would be turned off for any reason
Anyway my point of the post was that I'm pretty upset, would love to see confirm donut spend not as an option but built in, although I'm completely aware that this won't happen, more $$$ for ea but whatever :)
  • Understandable and I agree that the confirmation should just be a given (or at least the default option, though why anyone would not want to confirm I cannot fathom).

To find the silver lining on an otherwise dark cloud, at least you got a new character for your misspent donuts. Many folks accidentally speed up short-term buildings or some other less important result.

Granted, the donut amount isn't the same, but well...I tried. :P
  • Sorry to hear that. The default settings can be a harsh mistress.

Small comfort though it may be, I have no regrets about buying Bumblebee Man, mostly because Channel Ocho is a boon to any player when it comes to moneymaking.

Their policy, as far as I've seen, is no reimbursement for an item bought with donuts. It is, technically, our responsibility what donuts are spent on. The bugs and issues forum is full of people wishing for spent donuts back, and not receiving them. Reimbursement is generally only given for a purchase not going through, or for a character going missing or other such problems with the game. It's unfortunate, but that's how it is.
  • Yeah I'm pretty glad it wasn't a tree or a bench I guess! Maybe one day confirm donut spend will be manditory *sigh*

Those at least have a multiplier! I saw a thread once by some who accidentally bought a boardwalk performer, and another that got stuck with a Funzo. So it could be so much worse than a character with actual tasks! (but it still kinda blows, since it's not what you wanted)
  • Yeah my confirm button "mysteriously" shut off too. I wasted two donuts on something stupid I'm sure like rushing the brown house. Ea needs to stop turning it off after every update. I'm sure they are capable of saving the personal setting....if they wanted to
  • Yea, they really need to add a confirm. I've spent 2 doughnuts on the brown houses a couple times by accident. :(
