Question on "update" tomorrow

I remember something similar happening very early in the life of the game. Way back in 2012, the Halloween update dropped iOS support for versions earlier than 4.3. If I recall correctly this change wasn’t motivated by a wish to expand land/item limits, but was a consequence of some technical change in the compiler they were using.
