ha, it's been awhile, Dr. Jukan, but I'm pretty sure I was the one who random requested you. Back when I was looking for neighbors who wouldn't double haunt. 8)
Haha. I think that was my first thread in GD. Trying to clarify that indeed double haunting was rude. - I think I know what the OP is saying. I can deal with random requests, but the multiple requests from the same person is bothersome. I have had this same thing happen to me in Phase II, I keep getting requests from a certain someone and declining, only to find this person re-submitting the request in the next day or two.
Surely the available neighbors can't be that scarce that they keep re-submitting their request to me. - When I was new, I usually sent random requests to the 10 or 15 most recent folks in the "Add me" thread. Normally, that would be about 8 hours worth of posts. I would not go back a few days, let alone weeks or months before.
Now, I have about 10 extra people on my list. I like keeping about that number, especially toward the end of an event when I end up with a few people who haven't logged in for 2 weeks or more.
I do enjoy random requests, since I maybe get 1 per week. I am weird, I prefer to add people at the end of the alphabet. I see too many people changing names from JoeSmith to 123JoeSmith. The beginning of the alphabet gets plenty of taps, so I give love to the end of the alphabet! barryriddl474 wrote:

I am also very thankful to have passed this background check
8) Hopefully I'm not the only googler out there.- I'm at the outer edge of what I can handle at the moment, but I will say that the lower-level players I've added on are the ones I've found (frankly, to my surprise) to be consistently the strongest additions. They almost all visit every day, and I figure that's because they're still building up reliable friend pools of their own, and are grinding a lot harder. It's also a BLAST to watch their towns grow. :)
Of course the exception to this experience is, forum regulars, who are first choice mainly because they've become friends. annettemarc wrote:

And maybe I shouldn't admit this, but when I have room, I let the random requests accumulate until I've got about 15. Then I sit down on Origin and individually check each one's friends list. If it's less than 20, they're probably just starting out, and I decline. Otherwise I google to see if they post here or on the other board, or if they have a hot town. Sounds stalkerish, but for me it's better than just clicking no for everyone, and it has fetched me some really awesome neighbors.

Glad I got in before you had this method perfected!
I've accepted only one random request in over a year. I now prefer to send out the requests myself, but I have to say that one random add worked out great!- I too get random request. Too bad you can't block the stalkers lol

I agree with your sentiments, but add a touch of Mo's philosophy. I like adding lower level players - it's fun to watch a young town grow, and I remember how tough it was to get good neighboreenos early on so I like to help if I can. But I do look up usernames of random requests I receive, both here and on another forum, to see if they're just starting out of if they're trying to scam (especially during an event). If I accept a random request, and they turn out to not be a good neighboreeno, I don't feel too bad dropping them. But over two years into this game, I have some fantastic neighboreenos who I got through random requests.
That being said, I far prefer forum regulars and usually have a spot open for those who show a passion for the game :)- On my old tablet the upper left hand corner of the screen didn't work so I had a hard time (for 6 months) working out which towns I was visiting. Now I'm all up to date I'm just getting used to the names that go with the towns.
I even have some towns that have been inactive for months but they used to help me work out where I was in the alphabet.
I do accept requests but will refuse any that have resulted from my writing in this thread (just so you know!).
I check that requestee's town straight away to see whether there is anything "dodgy" I don't like in it - and also check out whether they have evidence that they have been keen players during events - those ghastly looking things like Homer Barbarian statues and Genuine Faberge Eggs really help me to make up my mind.
I think it is fine to be fickle too. I already deleted two people with the Level 20 Cannon out of sheer jealousy.
