The scene where Smithers told Mr Burns that he loved him, the scene where he dreams about Mr Burns flying through his window, "Hello Smithers, you are quite good at turning me on" computer, his apartment with pink walls and Malibu Stacey dolls covering every wall, when he played the male lead in a Malibu Stacey play. Yes he was open about it but in a subtle way. It was always represented visually with one or two lines referring to his sexual preference now it's just out there even more.
That's what I'm gettin' at.
