Depends how badly you need the gift cards. I use the task since I enjoy the animation of it. I'm already 4 days ahead of the pace needed to complete the event, and with all events the temporary tasks are usually meaningless in terms of the reward offered. If you are struggling to maintain 1035 gift cards a day, I would use the task twice a day. If you are well ahead of that pace, then you don't have to use the task if you don't want to, along with Homer's, Lisa's, Bart's, etc.

Besides whacking day temporary tasks, I absolutely love the animations of the temporary Christmas tasks, so I use them as often as possible. As said, I have no need for the gift cards, but I like them using those winter tasks.
