Stuck on Daily Challenge

All my characters are stuck on yesterday's daily challenge of "make Springfielders shop for gifts". I can click and receive all the money and it'll even give me a donut when the money makes me level up. But the characters are not released from this task. I've leveled up 5 times trying to get them off task. I've deleted and reinstalled app. I've rebooted. I sent all of them on this task because I was done the 3rd part of the wrestling.

    Store the building, go to friends screen and back to your town to synchronise your game, replace the building.

    Oh my goodness! So easy! It worked! Thanks. I've been playing this game since the 2nd year it started and I never thought of doing that. Doh! Haha Thanks again
